1956 - Rock Rock Rock was released. Alan Freed's film showcased Connie Francis singing for Tuesday Weld.

1968 - The Rolling Stones released their album Beggar's Banquet with a white cover made to look like a formal invitation.

1968 - Graham Nash left The Hollies, and three days later announced the formation of Crosby, Stills and Nash.

1993 - Ex-Gin Blossoms lead guitarist Douglas Hopkins committed suicide at his Tempe, Arizona home at the age of 32. The guitarist was fired 1992 for his excessive drinking.
